PROCESSING AND INNOVATION

THE RAW MATERIAL

The Emmedue tannery purchases leathers from various origins, mainly of Italian, European and North American origin.

QUALITY CONTROL

The raw hides are tanned in the Arzignano district (one of the most important in the world) and are then selected by qualified personnel who subdivide them according to their characteristics to be then destined for the realization of the various articles that the Emmedue tannery produces.

SHAVING

With the shaving, carried out internally, the hides are brought to the desired thickness (from 0.8 / 1.0 mm up to 2.8 / 3.0 mm).

RECONCIA, DYEING AND ENGRAVING

Then follow the phase of retanning, dyeing and fatliquoring, done in the drums and followed by our technicians who constantly monitor one of the most important processes for the realization of a good final product, thanks also to the new automated system.

THE FINISH

Once dried (with a wet frame or with a vacuum retorsa press depending on the item), the leathers are prepared for finishing and then trimmed, staked and revived (for nubuck items).
The finishing is carried out inside the spray and our technicians carefully follow this phase to ensure that the effect of the item and the color requested by the customer are respected in the creation of the product.

DRY BOTTLING

We also carry out the dry milling phase for soft items internally

THE SELECTION AND PACKAGING

The last process is that of the selection and final trimming, followed by the measurement and packaging that allows the Emmedue Tannery to ship to any part of the world.

INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY

During 2022, the tannery invested heavily in order to achieve higher quality standards and a lower environmental impact.
An automation system for dyeing drums was created in order to reduce water consumption and optimize energy expenditure.
This also allows to guarantee a more precise control of the processes, and to reduce the consumption of chemical products.
Particular attention is also paid to the selection of the chemical products used, selecting the most performing ones, but less impacting from an environmental point of view.
